Chocolate Spice Cookies #

Ingredients #

Makes ~4 dozen cookies with a size 40 scoop
  • 1 cup Crisco
  • 1.5 cup milk
  • 4 cups flour
  • 0.5 cup cocoa
  • 1.5 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp. clove
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. allspice
  • 3/8 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
  • 0.25 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions #

  • Melt Crisco in saucepan with milk and set aside to cool.
  • Mix dry ingredients and set aside.
  • Transfer the cooled Crisco and milk to a large mixing bowl. Stir in the vanilla extract. Then gradually stir in the dry ingredients. Finally stir in the chopped walnuts.
  • Set dough aside to settle for 30 - 45 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 400°F.
  • Scoop out each cookie using a size 40 cookie scoop, roll into a ball, and place onto a cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 13-14 minutes.
  • Pull the cookies out of the oven and place onto wire cooling rack to cool.
  • Once fully cooled, dip top of cookie into chocolate ganache glaze.
