Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies #

Ingredients #

Makes 4 dozen cookies
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup crisco
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 Tbsp. milk
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1 3/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 48 Hershey’s kisses
  • extra white sugar for rolling

Equipment Needed #

  • Medium mixing bowl
  • Mixer
  • Large mixing bowl (if not using stand mixer)
  • Small bowl of sugar for rolling
  • Large dinner plate for Hershey’s kisses

Instructions #

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  • In mixing bowl, cream together the egg, white and brown sugars, and crisco.
  • Add vanilla, milk, and peanut butter. Mix til creamy.
  • In medium mixing bowl, mix together the flour, salt, and baking soda.
  • Slowly mix in dry ingredients until combined.
  • Roll dough into 48 balls.
  • Roll dough balls in white sugar to fully coat them and place on ungreased pans to bake.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes
  • While cookies are baking, unwrap the Hershey’s kisses and place on a large dinner plate.
  • As soon as the cookies come out of the oven, press a kiss into the center of each cookie firmly enough to be seated in the cookie but gently enough to not split the cookie.
  • Remove cookies from tray to cooling rack when all cookies have a kiss in the center.
