Buttercream

Makes enough buttercream for a 9-inch round 2 layer cake
Ingredients

- 1 1/2 cups unsalted butter, softened
- 4 1/2 cups confectioners sugar
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3 Tbsp. heavy whipping cream
- 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp. salt
Equipment Needed

- Hand or stand mixer with a paddle attachment
Instructions

- Beat the butter on medium speed for 2-3 minutes until creamy.
- Add confectioners sugar, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt.
- Add cocoa powder if making chocolate buttercream.
- Beat on low speed until the sugar is incorporated. And then increase to high speed for 1-3 minutes.
Notes
#
- If the frosting is too thick, add more heavy whipping cream 1 tsp. at a time.
- If the frosting is too thin, add more confections sugar 1 Tbsp. at a time.
